aLWAYS READ THE FINE MANUAL!

Notes for the manual

The information made for this page was correct at the time it was created. However, do note that a lot of what is mentioned, and the instructions provided on this website are simplified or generalized for ease of understanding.

To fully understand the culture and ethics of the lab is to just come into the lab, sit down, and start a conversation with the students or lecturers regarding how things work in the lab. Keep in mind at the end of the day you still need to consult the lecturers regarding your design or what you plan to do in the lab.

We reiterate that the lab is owned solely by the DMD Department and will be prioritized for DMD classes when a schedule is in place. Students from other courses are allowed to enter when there are no DMD classes in progress.

Good ethics to have

-Being considerate to others, even people you don't know in the lab.

-Asking for help only when it is required and you've exhausted all options.

-Not coming into the Fablab when a class is ongoing.

-Helping out other students who are obviously in need of help.

-Using equipment and machinery in a responsible and smart manner.

-Cleaning up after yourself when leaving the lab.

bad ethics to have

-Using machinery and equipment without prior knowledge to operating them.

-Not informing others about what machines you plan to use.

-Keeping to yourself and not helping others.

-Expecting answers to be given to you rather than finding it yourself.

-Utilizing equipment and machines without permission.

-Not tidying up or shutting down machinery when done.
